Parrots-R-4Ever-Avian Rescue offered educational presentations about parrots to employees of 4 large government contracting companies on National Bird Day. Each company has 500 to 800 employees and an average of 100-150 people were expected to attend each session.

Storytelling, art, and creative movement. This event highlighted the new book, Lucky, about a young Indonesian boy who learns to empathize with his pet lorikeet and eventually sets him free. Professional storytellers, artists, and dancers lead the activities.
This Kids Club event was free and open to the public. Children of all ages weare welcome. The program was designed for ages 4-10.

Born Free USA hosted a special online auction in honor of National Bird Day. One of the projects that the online auction raised money for this year was to provide parrot conservation scholarships for college students in Guatemala.
