The Elegant Trogan Is Correct!
Did you know?
The Elegant Trogan breeds from southeast Arizona to all the way down to northwestern Costa Rica. The birds cannot excavate their own nest holes so often utilize holes that were made by woodpeckers, and they may have to fight owls and squirrels for prized nesting holes. While the male Trogan initially chooses the nesting hole, it is the female who makes the final decision on whether or not it is good enough to raise their family in.
